In the settings directory on the new machine create a directory controllers (if it didn’t exist already) and put the two SB3 files there. midi.xml and Pioneer-DDJ-SB3- scripts.js. Should be something like Pioneer-DDJ-SB3. If it’s there, find the two SB3 mapping files. If that doesn’t exist (or is empty) you need to try something else, see ( 2). Inside that (on the old machine) there should be a directory called controllers. No, that is the directory with all built-in mappings.Ĭheck Mixxx settings directory how to find the settings directory, both on the old and new machine. That’s a screen shot of SOME of the files that are in my controller folder That first one, where am I getting that from? Is that already on my laptop? This one…? I can’t figure this shit out curls into the fetal position and cries in the corner lol In looking at that link that you left, what am I looking for? Like this for me is like trying to find a needle in a haystack. When someone talks mapping, I think of using Google Maps to get from point A to Point B. The ONLY thing that I installed manually that was lamedll file thing. This is so stupid that we have to jump through all these hoops. Now, it doesn’t? I hate the new layout because now, the 4 bottom buttons put cue points 5 6 7 and 8instead of fast forwarding and rewinding and jumping to the beginning of the track. And I was using 2.2.4 on Windows 8.1 and EVERYTHING on my deck worked fine with MIXXX. My buttons were working fine on my old laptop. You have got to be kidding me? How the heck does this crap not work properly on a windows 11 computer but it was working FINE on my Windows 8.1 laptop. Many, many bugs have been fixed in Mixxx 2.3 so it is strongly recommeded to use that.Ĭontroller mappings are exchangable and should work on new Mixxx versions. everything works as before)ītw Mixxx 2.2.4 is not supported anymore, by using it you’re on your own in case you encounter issue or data loss. Thumbs pressed the inofficial mapping doesn’t cause issues (i.e. On your previous laptop, find the Mixxx settings directory, look for the SB3 mapping, move it to /controllers on your new laptop, start Mixxx and selected the SB3 mapping from the user section at the top of the mapping list (gear+wrench icons), not the built-in mapping (Mixxx icons). So, when you installed Mixxx onto your new machine and didn’t manually port some settings and mappings you’re likely using a different mapping now. However, since there is an official mapping. That mapping should be in your ()]/controllers on your previous laptop. In Mixxx 2.2.x there was no mapping for the SB3 included, so yo likely downloaded one from there forums? That’s the only explanation. So you are solely referring to the mapping of the DDJ-SB3? I tried setting up the most recent version of MIXXX and I HATED the new layout (if it ain’t broke don’t fix it) because I couldn’t get the FAST FORWARD, REWIND AND RESTART TRACK buttons to do exactly that. This is a screen shot of the button I’m talking about. I could rewind, fastfoward, and skip beginning of track with the bottom 4 buttons. The issue I am having, is after downloading the lame file and getting it put into the MIXXX folder in my the bottom 4 botton on both the left and right side no longer work at all. I didn’t have the time to sit here and figure out how to program them to do what I wanted them to do on my Pioneer DDJ-SB3 so I said forget this, and downloaded MIXXX 2.2.4. They were putting cues 5, 6, 7, and 8 down instead. My 9 yo laptop still works, but it has a shattered screen so I was using a 40" tv as the monitor and it wasn’t portable.
